Flights to and from New Zealand Originating Outside of Australia

Due to complications and restrictions associated with transshipments from other countries travelling via Melbourne to Auckland, we will no longer offer flights from London, Dubai, or Singapore to Auckland that involve a transshipment through Australia.

Additionally, due to low demand, running a dedicated flight to New Zealand separate from our main routes to Australia is not currently viable.

What are your options?

If your final destination is New Zealand and you are travelling from a country outside of Australia, here are your alternative options:

- Travel on one of our flights to Melbourne and arrange a connecting commercial flight for your pet to continue to Auckland via cargo as a transshipment.

- Travel on one of our flights to Melbourne, import your pet into Australia to complete quarantine, and then travel commercially to Auckland. Alternatively, we can arrange a private flight to Auckland for you.

Skye Pet Travel will handle the submission of the Notice of Intention to Export (NOI) and schedule the export appointment on your behalf. However, it's essential for you to attend your nearest export office once the Vet has finalised the health certificate. During this appointment, the health certificate will be endorsed, and you'll receive the export certificate.

Cats and dogs travelling to New Zealand from Australia typically do not need an import permit. However, since your pets will be travelling in-cabin, an import permit is necessary to fulfill the special condition required for in-cabin travel. Skye Pet Travel will handle the application for this import permit on your behalf. Please be aware that there is an application fee of $268.24 NZD for the import permit.
